Funtastic Holiday

During the holidays on the 29th of January my family and I had a family picnic. My cousins from my Grandpa’s side organized the picnic. It was held at Maraetai beach. We arrived there at 11:00 and came back at 7:00.

As soon as I stepped out of the bus I felt like it was my birthday. Everyone around me were putting up their tents and my brother playing touch with my boy cousins. I joined in playing touch with my brother and cousins.

After that it was time for us kids activities. Firstly we played Tree, log and bridge. After that it was time for the Water Slide. At first I didn't join in because I didn't have any spears so I just sat down with my sister and cousin. It was now round 2 so then I joined with the clothes that I was wearing. Coming down the slide was scary. Since it was slippery I came down the slide fast. I was screaming like I was in a horror movie but it was fun.

After all that fun playing activities it was time to eat. As we were playing before my Mum, aunties and uncles were doing the BBQ. The BBQ was delicious.

All about Me

All About Me

Talofa Lava my name is Mui and I am 12 years old. I have 2 brothers and 1 sister. I go to Point England Intermediate school and live in Glen Innes. I am full Samoan and part Chinese.

My hobbies are singing and playing musical instruments such as piano and guitar. Wherever or whenever I see it I would ask the person who owns it and see if they will let me use it. When I was at the age of 7 I learnt how to play the guitar. It was FUN!. It took me about 3 weeks to learn and it was hard but then I got use to it so now I know how to play a guitar.

As you may already know I go to Point England Intermediate school. I’m in a classroom mixed with Yr 7’s and 8’s. My room number is 21 and my teacher is Mrs Lagitupu. She is Niuean and is also brilliant. I love my class and my teacher and I hope we have a great year this year.

Picnic

“ Yeah today’s Picnic day ” screaming kids in the street. On the 24th February at Point England School was Picnic Day. Every Year at Point England School we have a special day to go to Pt England Reserve for a Picnic. As the bell rang people were rushing through people in the street trying to get to class for assembly. At assembly our principal Mr Burt gave us a few safety rules on heading down to the reserve. After assembly we were getting ready to head down to the reserve. We went there in classes and also with our parent helpers.

When we got there we got told our boundaries and rules. One of our rules were to have fun.
People were already setting up nets and activities for the kids to play. There were many types of sports that were about to be played such as Volley Ball, Softball, Grid - Iron and all kinds of other sports. There was also swimming, we were only allowed to be in the water for 20 minutes. The Juniors were first then the Year 6,7 and 8’s were last.

Everyone was having a great time. People were even having shared lunch and hanging out with Ms Tito and her guitar. Those who were with Ms Tito were learning a new Waiata. Some were singing and some were just there to listen. I was getting bored so I asked Ms T if I could borrow her guitar. I sang and played until I felt tired. My friend Helen was with me and Mauina and Victoria.

At the end of the day everyone had to go line up in there class lines, and wait until the whole school was ready to go back to school. It took long. When everyone was there Mr Burt asked Ms Tito to play a Waiata before we did the closing prea, we sang Wairua Tapu. After the closing prea we all headed back to school to class and got ready for home time.

So....... I really had FUN and I'm sure everyone else had fun too.

Mairangi bay

. Yayh were going to Mairangi bay. Us Year 7's were very excited to hear that we were going to Mairangi bay. It was a chance to get out of school and have fun at the beach.
Getting on the bus was making us unpatient. As soon as we got there we all jumped up with joy. At first we were asked to go to upstairs to there club house. We all sat down while 3 Life Guards introduced there self. There names were Meghan, Rosey and Rechal.

Later on we went outside and sat on the grass to hear what was happening next. We got taught that they use there rubber boat for rescuing and other stuff. We also had an demonstration from
Nathaniel, Moses and Casey.
It was morning tea now. We only had 15 minutes. After that we played Bull rush and Life guards coming. It was alright until we had to go back the clubhouse. We done a quiz and learning about different waves. Now its lunchtime.

People were playing touch and burring there self under the sand. Lunch time was over and then it was time for swimming. Unfortunately I didn't go swimming because I didn't want to. Even though I never went swimming I hanged out with Helen Tui, Kezia and Vaha.

It was funny. People who were swimming looked like they were having fun. Lots of fun. Soon it was time to head back to school. Tanielu done the thank you speech while we sat down and listened and also agreed to it. So we had lots of fun and I hope it would happen again.

Mairangi bay ROCKS!

Getting our new netbooks

Yesterday on the 16th of November we finally got our new netbooks. As well as getting our new netbooks, yesterday we got shown how to use it and keeping it safe. We also had a chance to  play on it. It was really fun. Having our new netbooks has made the Year 7’s even more happy. I would also like to thank my school principal Mr Burt and his lovely wife Mrs Burt for trusting us to have our own new netbooks.

Swimming

Yesterday which was the 2nd of November my class Room 19 and I went swimming after lunch in our brand new swimming pool. Our new swimming pool is located on our school netball courts. Unfortunately I never went swimming because of my leg so instead I was filming my class swimming and also having fun.

Since me and Jane were filming we actually thought that the swimming pool was cool. Everyone was having fun and they even done a circle and started singing the National Anthem.

Chris the swimming teacher started to teach them how to float on there back and dog paddle. Soon everyone started doing what they were suppose to be doing. So everyone had fun.

After that Chris decided that there should be a handstand competition so we did. He also decided that there should be two groups so there was two groups. One group had to go to the other side of the pool and the other team to the other side of the pool.

Finally it was time for the finals. The teams had to pick one person from there group to verse the other groups team player. So in the finals were Sharon and Cruz. Unfortunately Cruz won.

Later on it was time to go home. Some students left the pool happy and some were sad because they wanted to stay in the pool a bit longer. Our teacher Ms Tito told us that we could relax in the sun. So some students relaxed and some just went for a run.

It was fun and cant wait for next tuesday.
